Keep us informed Bob. I think DOG still has some good VZ24 barrels if you want to replace the counterbores. I have had some of the counterbores that shot surprizingly well in the past.

If you are talking about the @$)%@# screw with two holes in it that secures the band and sling swivel, I use a pair of vicegrips padded with leather or a piece of old innertube from a bicycle.

You got lucky there Bob. Many are reamed out to about 35 caliber and go in about 3 inches. Looks like yours were done in an arsenal that knew what they were doing.

For that screw with the two small holes in it try a pair of snap ring pliers that have an angle to them. Should work as long as it isnt too tight.
